Configure Telegram Alerts on DrayTek Router (Using SMS Provider)

DrayTek routers support sending alerts via SMS/Mail Service Objects. Although originally designed for SMS gateways, this mechanism is not limited to real SMS providers.

Because the router simply calls an HTTP URL template, any HTTP-based messaging service can be used. In this guide, Telegram Bot API is used as an SMS Provider to deliver real-time alerts directly to Telegram.

Compatibility & Requirements

• Supported devices: DrayTek Vigor series with Alert / Notification feature (e.g. 2927, 2962, 3912)
• Firmware: DrayOS 4.x or newer (UI may vary slightly by version)
• Network: Outbound HTTPS (TCP 443) access to api.telegram.org
• DNS: Working DNS configuration on the router

How It Works

When an event occurs, DrayTek processes it through Alert and Notification objects, then sends the message using the configured SMS Provider URL.
