Configure Telegram Alerts on DrayTek Router (Using SMS Provider)

Create Telegram Bot & Get Token

Telegram bots are created using BotFather, Telegram’s official bot management tool.

• Open Telegram and search for BotFather
• Start the chat and run /newbot
• Follow the instructions:
  • Set a bot name
  • Set a bot username (must end with bot)

BotFather will return a Bot Token:

Security note: Telegram bot tokens have no scope control. Anyone with the token can send messages as the bot.

Best practice: Create a dedicated bot only for router alerts. Do not reuse personal or production bots.
